Mike Rinderknecht is a Digital Biomarker Disease Area Lead at Roche, where he leads scientific strategy and implementation of digital endpoints in multiple sclerosis. With over six years of experience in the pharmaceutical and digital health sectors, he has led the development and validation of sensor- and smartphone-based assessments for clinical trials and on-market digital health solutions. Trained as a robotics engineer and data scientist, Mike holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience from ETH Zurich, awarded with the ETH Medal for his research on robotic and computational methods to assess somatosensory deficits in neurological patients. He has contributed to FDA briefing packages, numerous peer-reviewed publications, and patents. He is passionate about transforming scientific concepts into scalable, clinically meaningful tools that accelerate drug development and improve patient care.
